In August of 2009, I had the pleasure of working with Thomas Allen Harris as part of the Digital Diaspora Family Reunion multimedia production team. We conducted a series of short interviews with people from the Boston community, as they shared samplings of their photo collection and the personal stories behind their photographs. One of the people we interviewed was renowned community organizer, elected official, historian, and man of faith – Massachusetts State Representative Byron Rushing.

Mr. Rushing shared some of his personal photo collections, illustrating key moments in his remarkable life and work, as well as a balanced perspective on the topic of gay marriage.
